For Mother's Day, buy a research azalea

Sunday, May 10, Mother's Day, 20,000 volunteers from the Italian Association for Cancer Research, Supported by numerous researchers, they distribute in 3.600 Italian squares the Azalea of Research, a flower that for more than three decades has been the symbol of the battle against women's cancers. Also in Cerveteri in Piazza Aldo Moro, volunteers from the AS.SO.VO.CE. will set up a stall where you can purchase one of these azaleas, do good for research and collaborate with AIRC activities.

"With a minimum donation of 15 euros – said Francesca Cennerilli, Councillor for Personal Policies of the Municipality of Cerveteri – it will be possible to choose a beautiful and colorful azalea to celebrate Mom and make a concrete contribution to making cancer increasingly curable. All citizens are invited to join and contribute to this initiative.".

Over the past 50 years, cancer research has made remarkable progress in the areas of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Despite excellent progress, the data are unfortunately still worrying: one in eight women over a lifetime is affected by breast cancer, while about 15.300 women, each year, are diagnosed with gynecologic cancer.
So on Sunday, May 10, don't miss the Research Azalea to say all together "Against Cancer, I'm there".
